Our club

As a club we host events at different levels from time to time. Our regular Club Championships (both Scalextric and BSCRA) are run on a 13 week cycle as explained elsewhere on the site.

Between Championships on the BSCRA track we run single-night challenge events for 1/24 scale NASCAR cars. These belong to the club and every driver drives each car during the evening so that no-one has any ‘wallet-based’ advantage. It just comes down to driving. Chris Adams kindly prepares the cars each time this race comes round and repairs any damage afterwards.

Additionally, we are affiliated to BSCRA Area 3 (North-East of England) and one round of the annual Area Championship - a qualifying race for the Nationals - is held at Gainsborough. This season’s visit was held on Sunday 9th January 2005.

We also host a round of the British Open Championship (BOC) every other year. This meeting alternates between Gainsborough and Pontefract as we are geographically fairly close, and provides an opportunity for us to see what the best drivers in the country can do on our circuit. Even with one visit every two years they tend to take our lap records off us!
