Bath 2004. A rather sad one to start with, but....

Unfortunately the Bath club, one of our long-established venues, lost its premises early in 2005 and has closed. Hopefully the excellent track may have been saved and may yet be seen again, but it was a privilege to attend the final BOC event here on the weekend 19/20th June 2004. A good field turned out and, although a late finish lead to some slightly frayed nerves by the end, the usual high standard of racing was maintained. Thanks to the Bath lads for some great times over the years. Hope to see you around still on the slotting scene.

Timaru (Margate) 2004.

Another club with lots of history - way back to the sixties at least. Somehow or other I had not been here before though and I enjoyed being driven down by Brian Saunders. Thanks BS. What a lot of track it’s possible to fit into a relatively small space. It certainly takes a bit of learning, but in fact there is a good rhythm to driving here; provided you remember which straight is which. If not there’ll be a loud bang to wake you up!

A good eating opportunity on the Saturday evening too - every kind of oriental food on an ‘all you can eat for a tenner’ basis. Those who know my trim shape will see that this is just up my street.
